I am beginning to dislike Stargate Atlantis.

After finding out that the DVR chained me to a couch as I desperately tried to watch and delete enuf shows from my computer so that my DVR could record more, I got rid of my cable. The so called time saver made me a bigger couch potato. Imagine going from missing the occasional show to catching EVERY Law and Order show on TV at any time.

U can't watch all of that in a weekend and God forbid u have a life outside ur apt. U will come back to find out that rectifying the tv show backlog becomes.. a chore.

Another side effect is that u start to see the formula that each TV show has and unless u are SERIOUSLY DIALED into the show, u will grow to hate it. i have found sometihng worse.

I was given DVDs so vile that I wish i could go back and return this dark discs of power to it's owner. It was chuckful of Stargate seasons. Not shows, SEASONs. I have sat thru ENTIRE seasons of Stargate SG1 and SG Atlantis. the problem is that I can't stop. I have to finish it.

So I have in my possession 4 seasons of Stargate. I am committed to finish them. One way or the other, I will either hate these shows or love them. the love them parts is cool. It is the hate them part that I ... hate. I tend to deeply despise them.

Now if the series is engaging then I am in heaven. As I enjoyed Season 9-10 of SG-1. I happen to like Teal, Carter, O'Neil and that annoying new leader that jumps into alien shit without a thot. Why would u assign a reckless hot head to lead a team?? Ratings? Anyway, SG-1 has a better story line and much more depth to it characters than Atlantis.

Atlantis is beginning to PISS me off. they ALWAYS find themselves in some crappy situation and rely on an obnoxious cowardly scientist get them out of it. He has been annoying for 20 episodes so far and I am tired of it. I can't beleive noone has punched him out yet?? I mean come on...

Rant aside, i have seen the formula and I am tired of it. create impossible situation with a time crunch. Shot at bad guys with bullets while bad guys HAVE to take u alive and thus use stunners. One dimensional characters that always act the same way.

Mysterious female leader with awesome six pack. Usually a bad ass in combat at the base but ALWAYS get captured alive.
Bruiser of the team. slightly retarded but at peace with himself. Always bruising. always a flesh wound.
Scientist , gibbering yet has time to berate people that save his ass all the time yet noone takes him to tash cuz he is SOO smart.

Hot head leader that deadpan almost anything and trades corny banter til obnoxious scientist figures out how to rescue them and they scurry off to safety. Rinse repeat.

I still need to finish the series but if I ever see that scientist, i will have to kill. I will do it for all humaniTV.
